Doctor Cha

Doctor Cha (Korean: 닥터 차정숙) is a South Korean television series that aired on JTBC from April 15 to June 4, 2023. The drama follows the life of Cha Jeong-suk, who transitions from a long-term housewife back into the medical profession as a resident.

Plot

Cha Jeong-suk (played by Uhm Jung-hwa) has spent two decades as a full-time housewife after abandoning her medical career during her residency years. Her husband, Seo In-ho (Kim Byung-chul), is a chief surgeon at a university hospital known for his strict and thorough personality. The series depicts Cha's journey as she decides to restart her medical career, navigating the challenges of being a resident alongside her husband and colleagues.

Production

The series was directed by Kim Dae-jin and written by Jung Yeo-rang. It was broadcast on JTBC in the Saturday and Sunday 22:30 time slot. It succeeded the series Divorce Attorney Shin and was followed by King the Land on June 17, 2023.
