Dazzling (South Korean Television Series)

Dazzling (Korean: 눈이 부시게; RR: Nooni Booshige), also known by its English title The Light in Your Eyes, is a South Korean fantasy drama series that aired on JTBC from February 11 to March 19, 2019. The series was directed by Kim Suk-yoon and written by Lee Nam-kyu and Kim Soo-jin.

Plot

The story follows Kim Hye-ja (played by Han Ji-min), a young woman with a positive personality who aspires to become an announcer. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she suddenly ages into a 70-year-old woman (played by Kim Hye-ja) after gaining the ability to manipulate time. The narrative also features Lee Joon-ha (Nam Joo-hyuk), a man who has worked tirelessly to become a reporter but has become disillusioned with his life. Their paths cross, leading to a complex exploration of time and human experience.

Production

The first script reading for the series was held on September 26, 2018, at the JTBC Building in Sangam, Seoul. Principal photography commenced in October 2018. The series occupied the Monday and Tuesday 21:30 time slot on JTBC, following Clean With Passion For Now and preceding Welcome to Waikiki 2.

Reception and Awards

At the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards held on May 1, 2019, the series received significant recognition. Kim Hye-ja was awarded the Grand Prize (Daesang), and Lee Jung-eun received the award for Best Supporting Actress.
