Dareka ga Kono Machi de (Japanese: 誰かがこの町で) is a Japanese television drama series that aired on the WOWOW network from December 8 to December 29, 2024. The series consists of four episodes and is directed by Yuichi Sato, with a screenplay by Youichi Maekawa.

Plot

The story follows Yuichi Masaki (played by Yosuke Eguchi), an investigator at a law firm. Masaki is a man burdened by his past, having previously worked as a secretary for a politician involved in a slush fund scandal. His personal life is marked by the tragic suicide of his daughter, an event that left him with deep emotional trauma. His life takes a new turn when a young woman named Maki Mochizuki (Aju Makita) approaches his firm seeking assistance in locating her biological family. Separated from her parents as an infant, she grew up in an orphanage. As Masaki and Mochizuki return to the town where she once lived, they uncover connections between her family's disappearance and a historical kidnapping and murder case in the area.

The series is based on the novel of the same name written by Hiromi Sano, which was published by Kodansha on January 27, 2022.
