Premise and Plot Synopsis
The narrative centers on a newly established violent crimes support unit within the SSBC (Sousa Sien Bunseki Center, or Crime Support and Analysis Center). The unit is tasked with gathering and analyzing digital evidence, including CCTV footage, smartphones, and computers, alongside criminal profiling to assist the First Criminal Investigation Division.
Shuji Igaki, played by Nao Omori, is a veteran detective formerly of the First Investigative Division who was transferred to the SSBC following disciplinary trouble three years prior. Frustrated by a support role that denies him the ability to directly interrogate suspects or place them in handcuffs, Igaki maintains an assertive sense of justice. His ex-wife, Haruka Aoyagi (played by Nao Matsushita), serves as the chief of the First Criminal Investigation Division.
Rintaro Nanami, portrayed by Masaki Aiba, transitions to the unit from the National Police Agency after previously working for a foreign securities company. Possessing sharp analytical skills and a strong aptitude for numerical data, Nanami gradually forms an effective investigative partnership with Igaki as they collaborate on complex cases.
