Chest! (2008 Film)

Chest! (Japanese: チェスト！) is a 2008 Japanese drama film directed by Toshiro Saiga. The story centers on a young boy named Hayato, a sixth-grade student who harbors a secret: he is unable to swim. Throughout his elementary school years, he has avoided swimming tournaments by feigning illness. However, as he reaches his final year of elementary school, he is compelled to face his fear and participate in mandatory swimming practice.

Production

The film was produced by Fumi Hashimoto, Yasushi Sakagami, and Shinji Sakoda, with a screenplay written by Erika Tosaka. Masashi Endo served as the cinematographer. The film was released in Japan on April 19, 2008, and has a runtime of 110 minutes. It was distributed by T-Joy.
