Bae Doona: Biography and Career of the South Korean Actress
Bae Doona (born October 11, 1979) is a prominent South Korean actress recognized for her work in both domestic cinema and international productions. Born in Seoul, South Korea, she attended Hanyang University where she majored in Movie Theatre.

Career
Bae made her acting debut in the late 1990s, appearing in television series such as School 1 (1999) and the horror film The Ring Virus (1999), a South Korean adaptation of Ring. Throughout the 2000s, she established herself in critically acclaimed independent and commercial Korean films, including Bong Joon-ho's Barking Dogs Never Bite (2000), Jeong Jae-eun's Take Care of My Cat (2001), Park Chan-wook's Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), and The Host (2006).
In the 2010s, Bae expanded into international cinema. She appeared in the Wachowskis' film Cloud Atlas (2012) and their sci-fi feature Jupiter Ascending (2014), alongside Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda's film Air Doll (2009) and Broker (2022). On television, she has gained global recognition for her roles in Netflix original series such as Kingdom (2019–2020), Sense8, and The Silent Sea (2021), as well as the critically acclaimed tvN thriller Stranger (2017–2020).
