Another Promise
Another Promise (Korean: 또 하나의 약속; RR: Ddo Hanaui Yaksok) is a 2014 South Korean drama film directed by Kim Tae-yoon. The film is a dramatization of the true story of Hwang Yoo-mi, a young factory worker who died of leukemia, and the subsequent legal struggle led by her father, Hwang Sang-ki, to hold a major corporation accountable for her death.

Plot Synopsis
The narrative follows Han Sang-gu (played by Park Chul-min), a taxi driver and devoted father. His daughter, Han Yoon-mi (Park Hee-jung), secures a position at a large semiconductor factory, a source of great pride for the family. However, less than two years into her employment, Yoon-mi falls critically ill. Following her death, Sang-gu discovers that the company refuses to accept responsibility for the working conditions that may have contributed to her illness. The film depicts his transition from an ordinary citizen to a determined activist as he fights a long-term legal battle to seek justice for his daughter.
Production and Background
The film is based on the real-life case of Hwang Yoo-mi, who began working at a Samsung Semiconductor factory in 2003 at the age of 21. She was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005 and passed away in 2007. Her father, Hwang Sang-ki, became a prominent figure in South Korean labor activism by challenging the company's denial of liability regarding occupational diseases among its employees.

Another Promise held its world premiere at the 18th Busan International Film Festival in October 2013. It was officially released in South Korea on February 6, 2014.
