Andante (South Korean Television Series)

Andante is a South Korean television series that aired on the KBS1 network. The drama consists of 16 episodes and was broadcast from September 24, 2017, to January 7, 2018. It holds the distinction of being the first KBS1 drama series to be scheduled for the Sunday 10:00 AM time slot.

Plot

The story follows Lee Shi-Kyung, a high school student who undergoes a significant life change when he moves from the city to the countryside. Upon transferring to a mysterious rural high school, he encounters unfamiliar experiences that challenge his worldview, ultimately leading him to reflect on the deeper meanings of life and love.

Production

The series was directed by Park Ki-Ho, with a screenplay written by Park Sun-Ja and Kwon Ki-Kyung. Production was overseen by producer Sung Joon-Hae. The initial script reading for the cast took place on January 13, 2017, at the KBS Annex Broadcasting Station in Yeouido, South Korea. Filming for the series concluded on March 12, 2017.

The role of Lee Shi-Young was originally intended for actress Jung Da-Bin, but she withdrew from the project due to scheduling conflicts. The role was subsequently filled by actress Yoo Jae-Yi.

Reception

The series aired on Sunday mornings. According to data from TNS Media Korea and AGB Nielsen, the show did not rank within the top 20 television programs nationwide during its broadcast run.
