24 Japan is a Japanese television drama series that aired on TV Asahi from October 9, 2020, to March 26, 2021. The series is an official adaptation of the first season of the American television series 24, which originally starred Kiefer Sutherland.
Plot
The story follows Genba Shido (Toshiaki Karasawa), the director of Team A within the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU). Shido is a dedicated professional known for making difficult, high-stakes decisions to preserve lives. His personal life is strained, as he is currently separated from his wife.
Parallel to Shido's mission, the narrative focuses on Urara Asakura (Yukie Nakama), a prominent political figure and leader of the Minsei Party. As she campaigns to become Japan's first female prime minister, intelligence reveals a plot to assassinate her on election day. Shido is tasked with preventing the assassination, a mission that becomes increasingly complicated when his own daughter is kidnapped.
